Session Info Card–Colorado Springs Photographer

Once upon a time, Robyn at Paperie Boutique had a “buy the store” sale over at her template store, Fit to Print. I’ve admired her marketing materials for years, so I was gleefully took advantage of this! I finally got around to playing with a few of the pieces recently, and created a session info card to add to my welcome packet. This was something I’ve been wanting to have for a long time, but didn’t really know where to start. Before I had the card, I’d include a very wordy letter with the same information, but I always worried key points got overlooked since it was pretty long. The Fit to Print templates helped me take that letter and break it down into easier to digest sections. My card is a combination of Design One, and the now retired Design Three. I printed them through ProDPI. I love that ProDPI moved to Denver not too long ago! Turn-around time for my orders has been crazy fast now that they’re just an hour away. Clients have been so impressed that I’ve been able to deliver their print orders within a couple days since I receive them from the lab so quickly!

 

Wall Display Ideas

Displaying portraits in your home can be very daunting. What size works best on which wall? Should you group a ton of smaller portraits together, or showcase a few larger ones? Consider your portraits art for your walls--the most personal type of artwork. Also, remember your walls are much larger than they appear, so while a single 8x10 print seems large, it will actually appear tiny on a wall by itself.

You do not have to start with a large grouping, but rather you can build on that year after year. Eventually, your walls will showcase a lifetime of memories for you to share with loved ones. These images will be cherised for generations!

I hope these sample wall displays will assist you in choosing portrait sizes that work best in your home. They will make it a little easier to visualize the different sizes and groupings on your walls.

2010 Holiday Cards --Colorado Springs Family Photographer

This year has certainly flown by! It's hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner. I've already started thinking about Christmas cards!

These cards are 5x7 flat press-printed cards. I will print them in ProDPI's gorgeous matte paper, or you can also get them in glossy to give them more of a photograph feel. For a truly luxurious card, pearl paper is also available for an additional fee. It will have a soft, well, pearly, shimmer. More Stuff

Designing my referral cards made me want to create more stuff! I wanted to design a welcome packet for clients that looked nice and was well put together. There are still a couple things I'd like to have press-printed, but it looks good for now. The referral info card was my jumping point and I designed the rest around it. The cropping guide was a template I purchased at Pink Ink Studios. Everything that was press-printed (cropping guide, session reminder bookmark, cd cases) were all printed at ProDPI.



The inspiration for these appointment cards (as well as for the referral cards that started it all) came from Carrie Small's guest post at Paperie Boutique.



Welcome packet ready to go. Pochette envelopes are from Envelopper, Inc. The cd covers will also go in a pochette envelope to be included in client print orders.



CD "cases." They're 5x7 trifold cards I had printed and will stick a cd hub to. CD hubs were purchased at Shop4Tech, and the template for the cases is from Pink Ink Studios (can you tell I love their stuff). I used the layout and the wording from the template, and designed them to coordinate with the referral info card. The cd hubs are actually clear, I just didn't take the backing off to stick it. I ordered blank, printed DVDs from Nationwide Disc, but they haven't come in yet. ;)

Abby likes to rhyme everything these days, so this is what she says when she has something to show me. :) Now that I have a logo, I've been working on packaging and just making everything look pretty. I'd love to hear what you think!

My best client was interested in a unique Mother's Day gift for her mom, so I put together this little book for her. It's perfect for showing off the grandkids!




Thank you/referral card I put together. My starting point for the 5x5 flat card was a template from Pink Ink Studios, and I designed the wallets myself. I change the picture on the wallets for each client to make them more personal. The pochette envelope is from Envelopper in Stardream Onyx. It sparkles. :)

I used two different colored tissue paper inside the photo box: yellow and white-and-black polka dots.
